Partially-Quenched Nucleon-Nucleon Scattering
Nucleon-nucleon scattering is studied to next-to-leading order in a partially-quenched extension of an effective field theory used to describe multinucleon systems in QCD. The partially-quenched nucleon-nucleon amplitudes will play an important role in relating lattice simulations of the two-nucleon sector to nature.
متن کاملReduction of neutrino - nucleon scattering rate by nucleon - nucleon collisions
The collapse-driven supernova is supposed to be an outcome of gravitational collapse of a massive star ∼ 8M at the end of its evolution. Although more than 60 years have passed since the original idea by Baade and Zwicky [1,2], and the detection of neutrinos from SN1987A [3,4] confirmed that our scenario is correct on the whole, we have not yet figured out how this phenomenon occurs. These days...
متن کاملEffective chiral theory of nucleon-nucleon scattering
We present a new chiral expansion scheme for the nucleon-nucleon scattering amplitude which preserves unitarity exactly. Our effective field theory builds on the power counting rules for 2-nucleon reducible diagrams proposed in [1]. We evaluate the leading order terms of the isospin one scattering amplitude and elaborate in detail on the S0 phase shift. Our chiral description of the S0phase shi...
متن کاملRenormalization of EFT for nucleon-nucleon scattering
The renormalization of EFT for nucleon-nucleon scattering in nonperturbative regimes is investigated in a compact parametrization of the T -matrix. The key difference between perturbative and nonperturbative renormalization is clarified. The underlying theory perspective and the ’fixing’ of the prescriptions for the T -matrix from physical boundary conditions are stressed.
متن کاملPion-Nucleon Scattering in Kadyshevsky Formalism: II Baryon Exchange Sector
In this paper, which is the second part in a series of two, we construct tree level baryon exchange and resonance amplitudes for πN/MB-scattering in the framework of the Kadyshevsky formalism. We use this formalism to formally implement absolute pair suppression, where we make use of the method of Takahashi and Umezawa. The resulting amplitudes are Lorentz invariant and causal. We continue stud...
